The Gala Committee's two objectives are to enable the staging of community based fundraising events for the benefit of charities and good causes registered with the Committee and to annually distribute excess cash reserves to charities and good causes registered with the Committee.

Although the Gala Committee is only there to put on the event so that the charities can raise money we do often make a profit, in 2009 this was around £8000, this in line with objective two will be distributed to the member good causes at the time of the Gala.

Which means an average payout of £222 with the newest charity 12th Halifax Sea Scouts getting the biggest payout of £513. So a big thank you to everyone that supported the 2009 gala and helped us raise over £25,000 for our member charities.
